Wales Tales 10/5/14

The world’s a pretty rugged place
Where war and sin prevail,
And finding ways to further peace
Requires a wall to scale.
The anger and hostility of ages
Long gone by
Remain as strong as iron bands
to send the course awry.
The memories of ancient wrongs,
Of slights and cruel deeds
Makes searching for a gentle path
Among the thorns and weeds
A task of monumental price,
A job for super skills,
A hunt for answers to that goal
Before some hatred kills
The spirit to find ways to heal,
The balm to salve the hurt,
And close the road that leads to war
And cover it with dirt
Where seeds of hope can bloom again,
And joy can be renewed,
Where children are allowed to play
And never learn to feud.
‘Tis but a dream the scoffers say,
For war shall never cease,
But those who hear the voice of God
Still seek the road to…
                                                Peace,
