Wales' Tales 6/24/15

On the horizon a new vision stands,
The promise - a journey to far distant lands,
A time to refresh, a time to renew,
A time to relax and achieve a fresh view.
The promise of travel, of time in the air,
A chance to look out and observe with a stare.
The world as it spreads out way down below
The rivers, the valleys, the fields full of crops,
The forests, the mountains with snow at the tops.
To take a vacation away from our work
Can help to review, to provide a new perk.
A time to change venues, a time to just rest
And see with new eyes, exploring the best
Of God’s many blessings, the gifts that we get,
As we live our lives in a rut that is set
By schedules that trap us and keep us in line
And soon we accept them as being just fine.
We’re driven by things that we think must be done.
We work ‘til exhausted, and miss all the fun
Of seeing the world as God meant it to be,
A gift of creation, so wide and so free,
So I’m on vacation, just taking a break
Enjoying no schedule
Just plans that we’ll make
As we go to places that call to us there,
We’ll surely enjoy what God sends
With a prayer.
And ‘til our vacation does finally cease
We’ll keep you in mind and hope you find God’s..
                                                Peace,

Wales' Tales 6/8/15

Kids came rushing in the doors,
Laughing, jumping, wanting s’mores
VBS has just begun
A week of music, food and fun.
Crafts and games and songs and play
Filling each and every day.
Reading scripture, saying prayers,
Running up and down the stairs.
Pure excitement , youthful bliss
Will adults survive all this?
We are climbing to the top
Everest is where we’ll stop.
Catching visions of our God,
As the mountain path we trod.
Past the igloo made to last,
Down the cavern slick and fast,
Sharing our adventure time
Seeking to relate the rhyme
Of life lived in God’s pure light
Each and every weekday night.
Singing to enhance the soul,
Learning what will make us whole.
Sharing faith and growing strong,
Teaching right and shunning wrong.
Lots of work went into motion
Planning, building, true devotion.
Wanting to create a place
Where kids can meet God face to face.
Just a chance to share Good News,
From a child’s simple views
Of faith life that will never cease,
Giving them God’s hope and…
Peace,
